Crisis Communication in Benin

27/10/2023

The first training, implemented by the Egmont Institute, was a third-country training activity focusing on crisis communication. It included 22 participants from the Directorate for Training and Sports of Benin’s Republican Police, including trainers and police personnel responsible for communication, as well as from the Centre for Crisis Prevention and Management. The comprehensive curriculum covered all aspects of crisis communication, specifically focusing on the police-related mandate in crisis communication. This encompassed the use of traditional communication tools such as interviews, press briefings, and conferences and the integration of social media and tools to identify misinformation and disinformation.
