Last week Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA), our Italian partner, successfully concluded their Training of Trainers or ToT. This 4-day online training targeted professionals working within EUCAP Sahel Mali. 15 of them were able to share their knowledge and experience, improve their set of didactical and methodological skills and hone them in practice in a safe and protected environment.
Even though the Training of Trainers is a proven and well-known concept that can be used for various purposes and within various settings, each course is different. That is mostly due to the target audience. In this case, SSSA’s very own trainers and external experts praised the participants’ expertise and preparatory work they did beforehand, but also their dedication and valuable contributions they shared during the course.
Without doubt online courses cannot fully replace training in person, but nonetheless participants appreciated the fact that the course gave them a solid basis, structure, or a roadmap for organising and delivering training in their environment. With the new set of tools and skills they will be able to enrich their “training suitcase” and ultimately share their new knowledge with new generations of deployed personnel.
