Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) will organise the forthcoming training in Team and Conflict Management in a residential format in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 24 to 27 October 2023.
Adept team and conflict management skills are the foundation for successful teamwork, fostering a culture of open communication and mutual respect. These skills leverage diverse perspectives for innovative solutions and channel individual strengths to constructively navigate conflicts, ensuring a cohesive, high-performing team.
The effectiveness of missions and their ability to deliver on the mandate’s implementation depends on the ability of the mission’s members to collaborate and work together trustfully and effectively. Therefore, it is key to enable mission staff, especially on the mid-management level, to constructively deal with interpersonal conflicts and strengthen trust and team-building within their respective area of responsibility.
The main target audience for this particular training is different practitioners (mid to senior level) working in international crisis management/peace support missions – deployed in the Balkans.
The training will be very participant-focused, meaning that the programme shall fit the needs and professional background of participants and use participants’ experience and expertise as a resource. Additionally, the training will be interactive as well as it will provide room for personal reflection.
Throughout various modules, the training will cover the role of communication, culture and cultural diversity in international peace operations, trust-building and leadership tools in the mission context, and techniques to manage interpersonal conflicts.
The main aim of this course is to enable mission staff, especially on the mid-management level, to efectively deal with interpersonal conflicts and strengthen trust and team building within their respective area of responsibility.
